The weather is perfect. The competition has been primed. And when hundreds of Prairie Elementary students, teachers and parents hit the road for the second annual Prairie Pride 5K and 1-mile Fun Run next Saturday, they’ll be doing it for a great cause.
The run is one of one a handful of fundraisers put on by the school’s PTA each year, and raises money for the Praire Fund Educational Foundation. The Prairie Fund supports educational services that are not paid for by the school district, but that greatly enhance the learning environment and well-being of students. In the past, the fund has provided funding to assure a full time nurse, a full time reading specialist, half time counselor and educational aides.
So break out those sneakers, limber up, and get ready to get some good exercise for a good cause.
The starting gun goes off at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Click HERE to register if you haven’t already.
