Emerald Ash Borer confirmed in Shawnee Mission Park. K-State Horticulture agent Dennis Patton said yesterday that he’d discovered the telltale s-shaped boring marks and larvae of the Emerald Ash Borer in a tree he was monitoring in Shawnee Mission Park. It’s the first time the dangerous insect has been identified in that part of Johnson County. SM East stays atop tennis poll, Kansas City Christian makes top five rankings. After a week of girls high school tennis play, defending champions SM East stayed atop the 6A rankings. Local TV covers story of Tim Grimes. KSHB on Tuesday ran a profile on SM East graduate Tim Grimes, who discovered last month that he had stage four cancer.
