The storms that blew through northeast Johnson County late Sunday night and in the early morning hours of Labor Day produced only a small amount of damage but left a number of homes without power for several hours.
The KCP&L outage map shows a handful of customers still without power this morning in an area scattered across the Roeland Park, Fairway and Westwood. Late Monday morning, electric crews were still working on 57th Street just off Nall to restore a line that had been brought down by a tree in a backyard south of 57th Street. The main line running parallel to Nall through backyards on the west side of the street came down across 57th. The outage was believed to have affected a few hundred homes with power restored Monday afternoon.
No serious damage was reported in Prairie Village. Mission public works also cleared a tree that fell in the road at 58th and Russell. The winds that caused the damage came through close to midnight Sunday.
