With yesterday’s 7-4 win over the Giants — their seventh in a row — the Royals are just .5 games behind the Detroit Tigers, who suffered a gut-check of a loss Sunday in a game that took 19 innings in Toronto, in the AL Central, and are in sole possession of the second AL Wild Card spot with an 1.5 game lead over Seattle and New York.
The Royals have been hot since falling below .500 in July and holding a team meeting to try to correct course. They’ve won 15 of their last 18 games, with a lights-out bullpen and resurgent bats leading the way.
When we last took your temperature on the Royals post-season prospects in June, just over half of you thought they would miss the playoffs, while the rest thought the team would take a wild card spot.
How do you assess the team’s post season chances today?
