City of Mission approves CID for Keystone property development. The Mission City Council on Wednesday gave final approval to a proposal establishing a community improvement district for a development on the abandoned Keystone Auto Group property on Johnson Drive. The agreement will levy a 1 percent sales tax on retail sales in the new Cornerstone Commons development. Natural Grocers, Potbelly and Pie Five are the named tenants at present.
Former Kansas congresswoman says she didn’t endorse Davis. Well known former Republican Kansas Congresswoman Jan Meyers on Thursday said she did not endorse Democrat Paul Davis over Sam Brownback for Governor as claimed in a major release put out by the Davis campaign Tuesday. Meyers said she had joined the group Republicans for Kansas Values which put together the endorsement list, but that she would not publicly endorse a Democrat. Race scheduled to honor Tiffany Mogenson, PV dance teacher killed in wreck. The family of Tiffany Mogenson, the Prairie Village dance teacher killed in a car wreck at 75th Street and Roe Avenue in October 2013, have organized a fundraising fun run in her honor this weekend. The Dizzle Sizzle 5K and Tutu Trot will be held at Stony Point Elementary in Grain Valley with proceeds benefitting the Tiffany Mogenson Memorial Scholarship Fund.
