Underground power line leads to library outage. A buried power line serving the Corinth Library failed Friday forcing the branch to close for several hours. Crews from KCP&L were able to reestablish power by hooking up a temporary above-ground line Friday evening that allowed the library to open Saturday. They repaired the underground line permanently Saturday as well.
Rep. Bollier recognized for 2014 voting record. District 21 Rep. Barbara Bollier earned a commendation for having a perfect voting record during the 2014 legislative session. She did not miss one of the 287 votes cast in the House this year.

By day, Roeland Park mayor Joel Marquardt is an architect, and people driving in the western part of the county over the past several days might have come across one of his latest designs. Marquardt conceived of the truss that was just installed at 87th Street and Renner in Lenexa.
Roeland Park family explores western Kansas farms as part of “Get the Dirt” program. Shawnee Mission schools unveil concussion program. The Shawnee Mission School District will have a full-time physical trainer at each high school as part of an effort to identify and reduce the incidence of concussions.
