Ritter admitted that while she worked for PV-based Hub International, a packaging developer and service provider, she embezzled approximately $829,000. The embezzlement activities dated back to 2005, according to the Johnson County District Attorney’s office. Police chief Wes Jordan said Monday it was the largest embezzlement case the department had investigated during his tenure.
The Prairie Village police department started investigating the case in 2011, and filed eight charges against Ritter in February 2012. Ritter pleaded guilty to all eight charges against her in January.
Ritter will serve her time in Kansas Department of Corrections facilities. She is also ordered to pay more than $870,000 in restitution.
