Prairie Village “Happy Tree” gets some attention from TV. Fox 4 did a story Wednesday on the “Happy Tree” we wrote about earlier this week (thanks to the Trenkles of TrenkleHome.com for the tip). PV police will be serving at Johnny’s Thursday. If you head to Johnny’s Tavern at Corinth Square on Thursday, you might notice that the wait staff looks different — yet surprisingly familiar. Prairie Village police officers will again be having a “Tip a Cop” night at Johnny’s, acting as waiters in an effort to raise funds for the Special Olympics. The tips officers receive from Johnny’s patrons by donated to Special Olympics Kansas. The Tip a Cop promotion will run 5-9 p.m.
Free Jo rides for bike commuters today. The JO will be offering free rides to anyone who boards a bus with a bike today. The offer comes in an effort to recognize Bike to Work Week.
Corinth’s Smart Feet changes name. Smart Feet, the Kansas City shoe store that opened its second of three locations in Corinth Square in 2006, has changed its name to The Foot Spot. Owner Ryan Richard says the change came because the store was looking for a name it could trademark.
