The annual four-day Mission Family Festival kicks off tonight with the opening of the carnival in the lot to the north of Sylvester Powell Community Center.
The carnival will open at 6 p.m. tonight and Friday. It will also be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The unlimited ride wristband for $22 will be sold from 6 to 10 p.m. each of the first three days of the festival.
Saturday, the biggest day of activity, kicks off at 7 a.m. with the Rotary pancake breakfast which will last until 11 a.m. The Hy-Vee food tent opens at noon for the afternoon food needs. Activities through the day include lots of choices for the kids, including Mr. Stinky Feet at 11:30 a.m. and the Mission Bank coin hunt at 2:30 p.m. A variety of mascots, including the Royals Slugger will be on hand at 11 a.m.
