SM East’s theatre department will unveil its spring play this afternoon — and it’s a tale you won’t forget. Unless you want to.
“Eurydice” by Sarah Ruhl is a modern retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, a exploration of “the choice between remembering and forgetting,” according to director Brian Cappello. Debuted in 2003, the play is told from Eurydice’s perspective as she must decide whether to return to Earth with her husband Orpheus, or stay in the underworld with her father.
Maddie Roberts will play the role of Eurydice. Austin Dalgleish will play the role of Orpheus, and Malcolm Gibbs will play the role of the father.
The first performance will be 3 p.m. today. Subsequent performances will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All performances are in the Little Theatre. Tickets are $7 or free with and SM East student ID.
