Well, gang, Tuesday’s epic snowstorm raises anew questions of neighborly etiquette when it comes to clearing sidewalks for pedestrians and streets for vehicular traffic. One reader sent us a note just before the storm regarding a car that’s parked on his street for weeks at a time — and is consequently blocked by a mound of snow:
There has been a car parked directly behind my drive for weeks now and seems to only be a warm weather use car. I’ve called about this issue before and the people are told they have to move it every 72 hours. When we get large amounts of snow and the plows come through the car is blocked in and unable to move. This makes is nearly impossible for me to leave my house.
Police departments throughout northeast Johnson County requested that residents remove their cars from the streets prior to the storm…but clearly not everyone complies. Did anyone else have a similar similar situation on their block? What’s the best way to handle issues like these?
