The new program at the Paul Henson YMCA, called “Y Weight,” is facilitated by two registered dietitians, and focuses on healthy eating and exercise choices, and how to set realistic goals for yourself.
The program is free to YMCA member and costs $10 per session for non-member community participants.
The program starts today, and will offer two sessions per week for 19 weeks. There will be a session each Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and a session each Thursday at 6 p.m. Both sessions will cover the same topic each week.
The February topics for the program are as follows:
- Week 1: Be a fat and calorie detective
- Week 2: Three ways to eat less fat and fewer calories
- Week 3: Healthy eating
- Week 4: Move those muscles
