If there’s ever been a more perfect day to hunker down and do some fun family holiday crafting, I sure haven’t seen it.
The Prairie Village Municipal Foundation on Sunday held its annual gingerbread house decorating parties at Brighton Gardens, an event that raises money for the foundation’s Youth Scholarship Activity Fund. The fund pays for tennis lessons, pool memberships and other summer activity fees for area kids who could participate without financial assistance.
As she does each year, Mely Ballard of Mely’s Yogurt and Ice Cream at Corinth Square baked the gingerbread from scratch and assembled the houses. Families who reserved space at the event, which sold out, got to decorate the houses with a wide array of colorful sugary fare.
