For the second time this year, Westwood is looking to fill a vacancy on the city council – and it’s the same seat.
Lisa Cummins was appointed to the council in April to fill the unexpired term of Jace McClasky who moved out of Westwood. Now, a temporary move out of Westwood has caused Cummins to resign, effective immediately, according to Westwood Mayor John Yé.
“Lisa’s contributions have been nothing shy of stellar with her experience and devotion to community including service on the 47th St & Mission Road Overlay District committee, volunteer Block Captain and Westwood Foundation Board member,” Yé said. Lisa would have preferred to stay on the Council, and the City would have benefited from her experience.
“Lisa fully intends to rejoin Westwood as a resident within months and will remain active as a volunteer for the City. We will welcome her expeditious return to the city and look forward to her future participation, ” Yé added.
McClasky’s term expires in April 2014.
