Tutoring and nanny service expands to Prairie Village
A new business that offers both tutoring and nanny services has opened a Prairie Village location at 4617 W. 90th Street. College Nannies and Tutoring has been in business since 2007 with a learning center in Overland Park and will continue at that location as well adding the new Prairie Village learning center.
The locally-owned business helps families fill both tutoring needs and nanny and babysitting needs. It offers a complete set of placement and on-call childcare services, including finding a qualified nanny or babysitter. The business offers one-on-one custom tutoring for all ages and subjects, including college test preparation. Every month the tutoring service offers a practice ACT test which it scores just like the actual test to give feedback to students and families.
The business is owned by Jennifer Schellhase who is from the Kansas City area. She and her husband, Todd, have three children and understand the issues families face while trying to achieve work/life balance. She has degrees in human relations and management and has worked in human resources for national companies in the pharmaceutical, telecom and restaurant industries.
Lisa Booth is the learning centers manager and holds a liberal studies degree with an emphasis in special education. She also is a behavior therapist and consultant who works with children on the autism spectrum and those with IEPs in public schools.
Brittany Garber is the nanny placement manager. Brittany has years of experience with special needs students and is a certified autism therapist. She has a degree in criminal justice with an emphasis on behavior.
