Brighton Gardens to host ‘Taste of PV’ next week
A “Taste of Prairie Village” is coming to Brighton Gardens next week featuring a number of Prairie Village restaurants providing taste samples and Rimann Liquors providing a signature drink.
The event will be held Friday, March 22 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Brighton Gardens is located at 7105 Mission Road. Restaurants participating in the “Taste” include: Blue Moose, C. Jacks, Cafe Provence, Goodcents, Minsky’s, Great Harvest Bread Co, Mely’s Frozen Yogurt, Salty Iguana and Planet Sub.
The “Taste” is open to the public, but RSVPs are requested by calling 913-262-1611. Brighton Gardens is asking attendees to bring a food donation that will help St. Mark’s church in Overland Park re-stock its food pantry, which is depleted after the holidays. A donation barrel will be set out at the event. St.Mark’s fed more than 4,500 families in 2012. Non-perishable items are appreciated, but the following are on the most-needed list:
- Canned meat (tuna, chicken
- Canned soup
- Rice, Pasta
- Tomato/Pasta Sauce
- One-package meals (Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper etc)
- Canned fruit (They get a lot of canned veggies, but canned fruit is needed)
- Peanut Butter, Jelly
- Toilet paper
Tours of the Brighton Gardens facility, which includes assisted living, memory care and Medicare-certified skilled nursing and rehab care, will be available during the event as well.
