Story chef among nominees for Food & Wine’s ‘People’s Best’ award
Story restaurant’s Carl Thorne-Thomsen is among the nominees for Food & Wine magazine’s “The People’s Best New Chef” award in the Midwest division. (Port Fonda’s Patrick Ryan made the list as well, and is the only other Kansas City-area chef among the 10 nominees).
Thorne-Thomsen recently made the semi-finalist list for the prestigious James Beard awards.
Food & Wine’s nominee write up for Thorne-Thomsen says he’s amazing because “he’s turning out incredible European-inspired dishes in a shopping center in suburban Kansas”…which doesn’t make the location sound all that remarkable. We would, of course, beg to differ.
