Lancers tip at 8:15 in first round of state tournament, to be broadcast on Metro Sports
Just a reminder that SM East’s boys basketball team opens 6A state tournament play tonight at 8:15 p.m.
The third-seeded Lancers take on 15-7 Wichita East, with the game broadcast live on Metro Sports. It will the the first time in school history that the Lancers and the Blue Aces have met.
A win tonight would mark the Lancers 21st of the year — a school record. It would also ensure that they play the 2000th game in school history this season. Tonight’s matchup marks game number 1999 since SM East opened in 1958.
Top-seeded Blue Valley Northwest, 22-0, opens state play earlier in the day, taking on Lawrence Free State, 11-11, at 3 p.m.
