PV, Mission trash pick up delayed in anticipation of snowstorm

Trash pickup for Deffenbaugh customers is the latest casualty from the snow storm bearing down on the metro area.

Both Prairie Village and Mission, who contract with Deffenbaugh, sent out notices to their residents late Wednesday afternoon advising that Deffenbaugh has suspended residential trash pickup on Thursday. The Thursday and Friday routes will be run on Friday and Saturday. Deffenbaugh anticipates that with the heavy snowfall predicted residents will have difficulty getting trash and recycling to the curb and that trucks will have difficulty getting down some residential streets.

Most meetings and events for Thursday also fell victim to the storm by Wednesday afternoon.
