SM East’s boys basketball team this weekend notched two convincing wins in two days that only heighten the drama heading into this Friday’s regular-season finale showdown against 18-0 SM South.
The team kicked off its weekend with a 66-34 drubbing of SM North — which included a dunk from sophomore Lucas “Tuna” Jones — and had just 24 hours to recover before the tip of a make-up game at Olathe Northwest Saturday. The Lancers took care of business against the Ravens, as well, walking away with a 64-54 win that improved their record to 17-1.
SM East has just one game left, a matchup against a middling Lawrence Free State team on the road Tuesday, before the big event against SM South at SM East Friday.
