St. Ann to undergo school expansion

Construction crews will be hitting the campus of St. Ann Church and School in Prairie Village over the summer.
St. Ann Catholic School will undergo a classroom expansion this summer. The building project will add eight new classrooms to the school, which serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Principal Becky Akright said the construction will allow space for an additional kindergarten classroom and move the current kindergarten class closer to the primary grades. Third and fourth graders will get larger classrooms, there will be a dedicated science lab, meeting space and a room for para-professionals to work with students.
Construction is expected to begin this summer as soon as school is out. St. Ann school has approximately 450 students in its current enrollment.
The building project also involves reconstruction of church offices. The classroom additions will be to the north of the current building. St. Ann is located at 7241 Mission Road in Prairie Village.
