When the Kansas Legislature convenes, the number one topic for residents of the Shawnee Mission School District often revolves around school finance. The 2013 session is no exception. But it can be a challenge to stay on top of the fast pace of the legislative action.

Barbara Bollier, Melissa Rooker and Stephanie Clayton — have taken pro-education positions in support of adequate funding for Shawnee Mission schools. Parents attending the SM East PTA meeting this week were reminded of the friendly legislative stances, but also given some tips on how to stay plugged in to what is happening in Topeka relative to education bills.
