Lancer Dancers dazzle at Miss Kansas Dance Competition
It’s dancin’ season. And those Lancer Dancers are already dancin’ up a storm of awards.
At the annual Miss Kansas Dance Competition at Olathe South High School three weeks ago both the Lancer Dancer varsity and JV squads earned a Sweepstakes Award, a Polish and Precision Award and a Shining Star Award. More than 50 dance teams from across the state competed.
The varsity squad also received a Technical Award for its lyrical routine, and the JV squad earned a Choreography Award for its mix routine.
Solo dancers to earn accolades were Britney Hinote, Hannah Smith, Lily Kaufmann and Missy Linville.
The dancers are in the midst of their annual boutonniere sale, raising funds to help the team travel to the National Dance Alliance Nationals this March in Orlando, Fla. The Lancers took home major awards at last year’s NDA Nationals competition.
