With the completion of the major revamp of the Nall Avenue and Somerset Drive intersection this past fall, Prairie Village has rolled out a new traffic signal designed to eliminate ambiguity about who has the right-of-way when motorists are attempting to make a left turn.
The new signals feature a series of left turn arrows: a green arrow, a flashing yellow arrow, a solid yellow arrow, and a red arrow. Descriptions of what each arrow indicates can be found in the graphic above.
The signal is the first of its kind in Prairie Village, though others have been installed in Overland Park and Lenexa, among other locations in the Kansas City metro.
So, Villagers, what do you think: Is the new signal helpful, or is it going to take some getting used to?
