Scenes of the season: Sledding and snowy sycamores

A slippery snowfall on Dec. 31 may have been a nightmare for roadcrews and New Year’s Eve revelers, but it proved a pleasant diversion for groups of children enjoying their final days of winter break.

Dozens of kids and parents braved the elements Monday and Tuesday to hit the locally semi-famous sledding hill above the SM East practice fields.
