Northeast Johnson county spared major power outages so far
High winds following hours of steady snowfall are making for a slog of a morning commute — though with area schools canceled on account of the weather, traffic is relatively light.
Northeast Johnson County has been spared any significant power outages, a growing problem as high winds stress tree limbs weighed down by snow. At 8:30 a.m., KCP&L reported just 45 customers in the 66208 area code and 20 customers in the 66205 area code — less than 1 percent of the customer base in each area. A bit further south, however, outages are more prominent, with more than 600 homes in the 66207 and 66206 area codes without power.
Drive safe out there, NEJCers.
