OpenTable names Village Shops’ Cafe Provence to Top 100 Restaurants list

The parade of accolades for Village Shops restaurants continues.

Cafe Provence, which last month received a Top Restaurant rating from Zagat, has been named to OpenTable’s Diner’s Choice Top 100 Restaurants list. The Capital Grille on the Plaza was the only other Kansas City area restaurant to make the list.

Cafe Provence’s neighbor across the street, Story, made Open Table’s Best American Cuisine list in November.

Here’s OpenTable’s summary of its methodology for the Diner’s Choice awards:

The Diners’ Choice Awards for the Top 100 Best Restaurants in the U.S. are generated from more than 5 million reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between December 1, 2011 and November 30, 2012. All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant’s average rating in the “overall” category along with that restaurant’s rating relative to others in the same metropolitan area and the average number of restaurants reviewed by diners who reviewed that restaurant.
