Joint playoff pep rally planned for SM East soccer and football teams at 4 p.m.

David Stewart cheered his teammates on from the sidelines as the Lancers wrapped up a 41-21 victory over Olathe East earlier this season. The teams meet again tonight at 7 p.m.

Every day is a great day to be a Lancer. But Friday, Nov. 2, has the makings of a truly excellent day to be a Lancer.

SM East is going to send off its soccer and football teams with a huge show of enthusiasm before the teams’ two major state playoff games start at 7 p.m.

SM East will hold a pep rally in the front parking lot (the circle drive area on the south side of the school, by the senior parking lot) at 4 p.m. Cheerleaders and the pep band will be on hand stoking that legendary Lancer spirit as the teams board their busses. They are scheduled to depart SM East at 4:20 p.m.

Coincidentally, both the soccer team’s semifinal game against Washburn Rural and the football team’s first-round playoff game against Olathe East are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at the Olathe College Boulevard Athletic Center (21300 College Boulevard, Olathe).

Get ready to head out to Olathe to cheer on your LANCERS!

The Lancers soccer team will be making the second appearance in school history in the state 6A semi-finals.
