Annual Corinth holiday sale will have new look this weekend
One of Corinth Elementary’s biggest fundraisers of the year is getting a new look for 2012.
This weekend, Corinth’s PTA will put on its annual holiday gifts and clothing sale —but instead of the Jolly Dragon Mart event held in the school’s gymnasium since 2009, the PTA will be putting on a “Corinth Market” at Round Hill Bath and Tennis Club, 8932 Maple Circle, Overland Park.
“The event has always been open to the public, but we hope with our new location that more of the community will attend,” said organizer Kathi Hardin.
This year’s event will feature 18 vendors selling gift items from jewelry, home decor, books, art, party supplies, clothing and more. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from all the vendors will go directly to the Corinth PTA, helping support field trips and classroom grants, among other activities.
The market will run two days, Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3. Friday night from 5-8 p.m. is Ladies Night. A $10 cover includes appetizers and drinks. On Saturday, the market will be open to everyone from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There is a $2 cover at the door.
Organizers encourage patrons to bring cash and checks for shopping, as most vendors aren’t able to accept credit cards.
