Back on winning track, Lancers advance in soccer regionals
The Lancers boys soccer team broke a two game losing streak Tuesday, and looked to be back in form as it knocked off Olathe North in the first round of the Northeast Regional play at the Shawnee Mission Soccer Complex.
Senior striker Carter Olander put the Lancer on the board with the first score of the night, though the Eagles managed to tie the game before the half. Seniors Bryce McClanahan and Tyler Rathbun each notched a goal in the second half for the Lancers, who finished with a 3-1 win.
The Lancers, now 14-3-0 on the season, face a 7-7-2 Blue Valley West squad in the next round of regionals play Thursday at 6 p.m. The Jaguars upset fourth-seeded Olathe South — the Sunflower League champs — in the first round of regionals.
