Spotted in Prairie Village: Cooper’s hawk (maybe…?)

Our photos yesterday of a red tailed hawk perching on the St. Ann Church cross prompted readers Kathy and David Casteel to pass along some good shots of a big ol’ guy hanging out on her birdbath this July:

Based on its chest marking and the time of year it was spotted, I’m guessing that it’s a Cooper’s hawk…but, again, I’m prepared to be put in my place by birders better than I.
