Fairway, Roeland Park, Mission and Mission Hills partner in document shredding event

Do you still have those secret documents in the closet with your bank account numbers and passwords? If you live in Fairway, Roeland Park, Mission or Mission Hills you can get rid of it all safely and securely this Saturday.

Your opportunity will be in the Fairway City Hall parking lot (4210 Shawnee Mission Parkway) from 9 a.m. to noon. You can bring up to 10 normal size office storage boxes of materials to be shredded and city staffers will be on hand to help you unload from your car. Boxes will be shredded immediately so you don’t have to hang around to guard the secret documents.

A mobile shredding truck from PROSHRED will be in the lot and you can watch your documents being destroyed. The truck can shred paper, CDs, DVDs, hanging files and small binders. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips, hanging file folders. Ink cartridges also will be accepted for recycling.

You need to prove residency to drop off your materials: driver’s license (helpful if you are driving your boxes over) or utility bill accepted. Only residents of the four cities that are participating in the event are eligible.
