After further investigation into the incident near Corinth Elementary School Wednesday, local police have determined that the initial “person of interest” they contacted was not the man who asked three local boys if they wanted a ride in his maroon Corvette.
“After looking into the incident and talking with the man we IDed as a possible person of interest, we’ve been able to rule out the fact that he was the one who approached the boys,” said Prairie Village Police Captain Tim Schwarzkopf.
As such, police are still seeking to identify the man who pulled up beside the boys. Schwarzkopf said the boys told police that the man’s maroon Corvette did not have a license plate and that it may have had some scratches or dents in it. They said the man was likely in his 20s.
