Boone the cat is alive! And back home in Prairie Village

Regular visitors will no doubt recall the story of Boone the cat, who went missing from his owners after getting into a fight with a loose dog a week and a half ago.

Owner Deric Stewart tells us that after being gone for five days, Boone stumbled home last Friday. He was immediately taken to an animal hospital in Mission, where he was treated for severe dehydration and infection from his wounds. Boone came home last Sunday, but had to make another trip to the vet after his breathing became irregular. But, Stewart reports, he’s back home again and appears to be doing much better.

Stewart said that after the story on Boone ran here, he got calls from neighbors letting him know they’d seen Boone.

“I was encouraged by a couple calls I received from neighbors that let me know he was still alive and wandering around the neighborhood,” Stewart said.
