Prairie Village posts financial records online
Prairie Village residents interested in seeing where the city’s money goes each month have a new resource at their disposal.
The city has launched a new “PV Checkbook” feature on its website that lets anyone view the city’s expenditures.
“PV Checkbook is an online application that brings government transparency to the fingertips of Prairie Village residents and business,” says a story posted on the city’s website about the new feature. “This comprehensive database lists General Fund expenses by department, and all vendor payments. It is local government at its best.”
Residents can search for expenses over specific periods of time and view them sorted by vendor or department.
City finance director Lisa Santa Maria will update the site with new financial information the 15th of every month.
