Prairie Village Water Show brings Beatles to blue waters of municipal pool
Fifty years after the Beatles came together — and just two days after their music helped provide the soundtrack to the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games — a group of young swimmers paid the group a special tribute before a hearty crowd at the Prairie Village Municipal Pool Sunday.
Hundreds gathered on the scorched grass of the hill overlooking the lap pool in temperatures that flirted with 100 degrees, even at 8:30 p.m., for the 53rd Water Show synchronized swimming performance.
“From Liverpool to the PV Pool” opened with the traditional lifeguard performance, this year a creative tribute to the Beatles’ Yellow Submarine:
