Crews to begin work on repaving cracked Windsor Park trail
(Assuming the weather ever returns to some semblance of normalcy and it would actually be comfortable enough to want to go for a walk in the park) residents of the neighborhoods around Prairie Village’s Windsor Park are in for a treat, as the city is preparing to start work to revamp the park’s decaying trail.
Prairie Village Public Works Director Bruce McNabb said construction is expected to start any day on a $25,000 revitalization of the park’s walkways. The contractor, McAnany Construction, will mill away the most severely cracked sections of the trail and replace them with new asphalt. The work is expected to be completed within a week of its start.
Residents of Normandie Court lobbied the city council last August to repair the trail, whose deep cracks posed a safety risk to aging pedestrians, they said.
The work was bid out as part of the city’s street repaving contract for the year.
