Rumors of Mission Road Antique Mall relocation are just that
Rumors of the Mission Road Antique Mall’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.
The sale of the Mission Valley Middle School property coupled with the extensive renovations to the Corinth Square shopping center have apparently sparked chatter that the long-running business is in danger of being relocated.
Owner Casey Ward said she hears the inquiries from customers and vendors almost every day.
“People come in and say, ‘We can’t believe the mall is closing,’” she said. “I have to tell them, we’re not going anywhere. Our lease runs through the end of 2014.”
LANE4 Property Group, which owns the Antique Mall property, confirms that there are no plans in the offing at present to relocate the business or renovate the building, parts of which are among the oldest in Prairie Village. The facility was once part of the horse barn on the former Woolford Farm, where Kentucky Derby winner Lawrin was reared.
“The Mission Road Antique Mall is a landmark to the area,” said LANE4′s Trip Ross. “We have a lot of change going on at Corinth right now, but the Antique Mall is an intuition in this community and a valued tenant to the center”
