Prairie Village police seeking help identifying Antique Mall thief

Prairie Village police are asking for help identifying a man they say is a suspect in a recent theft at the Mission Road Antique Mall.

The store’s security camera captured the image at the right of a bald man in a white Polo shirt carrying a newspaper. Capt. Wes Lovett said the man appears to have walked out of the store with merchandise without paying for it. Anyone with information about the man in the image should call the police department at 913-642-6868. (Unfortunately we don’t have a bigger picture at this point).

Police are often able to identify the suspects in these types of crimes by searching for the stolen merchandise at local pawn stores.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if we had some new information on the suspect in the next day or two,” he said. “But any information the public can provide is a huge help.”

It’s not the first time someone has been caught in the act of taking items out of the Antique Mall. Last February, a PVPost.com reader helped identify a local hairdresser who walked out the front door with two figurines. He was arrested.
