More champs! Lancers swim and dive team takes third consecutive title

SM East sports have been keeping banner makers busy this spring

With solid across-the-board performances Friday and Saturday, the Lancers girls swim and dive team earned its third straight state 6A title. Though the Lancers only won one event — the 200Y freestyle relay — they outpaced second place finisher Topeka Washburn by 44 points. There were 25 6A teams competing in the tournament at the Capitol Federal Natatorium in Topeka. Senior Cassie Sterbenz took 4th place overall in the diving competition

The girls swim and dive team joins the Lancers lacrosse team and boys tennis team as 2012 champions. The boys golf team competes in the 6A state tournament today.
