Large item pick up for PV houses south of 75th Street is Saturday

Just a quick reminder for Prairie Village residents who live south of 75th Street that tomorrow is large item pick up day — an event that almost certainly accounts for the increased pickup truck and trailer traffic in your neighborhoods the past day or so.

Crews from Deffenbaugh will be out tomorrow, so if you’ve got something you want hauled off, it needs to be on your curb by 7 a.m. Items cannont be larger than a standard sized refrigerator. If you’ve got any kind that contains any kind of refrigerant — an old air conditioner, for example – Deffenbaugh asks that you place it a few feet away from other items.

And, for those of you placing bets on which of our personal treasures would be snatched up first last weekend, here’s how long each lasted:

• Potentially dangerous broken lawnmower: 10 minutes
• Heavily damaged vanity: 4 hours
• Toilet without tank cover: Undrafted. Picked up by Deffenbaugh
