The end of the final chapter in the Tomahawk Creek fence saga is likely to be written tonight as the Prairie Village City Council makes a final determination about the design of the wood-rail fence crews completed last week.
The design approved by the city council in February called for chain link to be added to the back of the fence for safety reasons, but many of the neighbors whose protests led to the replacement of the original chain link fence have also raised questions about the necessity of adding chain link to the log fence.
What do you think the city council should do:
Should Prairie Village add chain link to the back of the new wood-rail fence on Tomahawk?
- Instruct Public Works to let the wood-rail fence stand on its own. The fence provides enough of a safety barrier as it is. The chain link would detract from the aesthetics of the wood rail. (70%, 105 Votes)
- Instruct Public Works to move forward with the approved design. There is likely a valid insurance or legal reason for the chain link backing. Better safe than sorry. (30%, 44 Votes)
