New martial arts, fitness studio opens at Corinth Square

Villagers looking to blow off a little steam, get their heart rate up, or bring their stress level down have a new fitness option at Corinth Square.

Fitness professionals Janell and Glen Bartlett opened a new studio, Kempo Fitness, on the west side of the main Corinth building near Social Suppers and Soul Patch Barbershop earlier this month.

The studio offers martial arts, yoga and cardio classes in two studio spaces, one at ground level and one in the basement.

Glen and Janelle have been instructors at other studios for decades, and said they were drawn to the neighborhood feel of Corinth as the location for their own venture.

“We love that people are out walking around and say hi to each other,” Janell said.

The Bartletts also live in Prairie Village — so their commute to the office is quick.

“We liked the idea of being close to home.”
