Boat in Fairway driveway finds a new home
A floatable fixture in a Fairway driveway that upset many neighbors has found a new home thanks to another Fairway resident.
After dozens of complaints from people who live in the area, the City Council held a special meeting in late February and formally declared the boat, which had sat in the driveway at 5631 Mission Road for months, a nuisance, giving its owner, Todd Kirkman, 10 days to have the boat removed.
The boat met the city’s definition of nuisance because it sat at least in part in front of the building line (the front of the house).
So earlier this month Kirkman took up the offer of another Fairway resident whose company has a storage facility with extra space to store the boat in his warehouse.
