Prairie Village police arrest 2 after 9-car burglary spree
Just another reminder that step number one in preventing thefts is using your locks…
The Prairie Village police last week arrested two men suspected of carrying out an auto burglary spree, taking electronics, clothing, paperwork and jewelry from nine cars between 72nd Terrace and 74th Terrace and Mission Road and Village Drive. All of the cars the thieves hit were unlocked.
Prairie Village Police Capt. Wes Lovett said authorities were alerted to the burglars around 4 a.m. last Wednesday by a newspaper delivery crew. The suspects were arrested around 5:15 a.m.
“They had run out of gas, so no chase occurred,” Lovett said via email.
Both suspects live in Kansas City, Mo.
This isn’t the first time a crew of ne’er-do-wells have hit the area — as well know all to well, having been hit ourselves in December.
