Is there a ‘dog liberator’ on the loose in Prairie Village?

We thought we’d pass along a note we received from a reader who lives in the Indian Fields area. Apparently, several residents in the area have let their dogs out in the backyard to find their gates open, allowing their dogs to escape:

The night of the snowstorm, January 11, I let my dog out in the back yard and discovered one of our gates open. She was quick to take advantage of a night on the town. I assumed a utility reader may have accidentally left it open…until it happened again a few days later. As I combed the streets calling her name, I ran into a neighbor who said the same thing happened to her the day before. Last night, I found another neighbor’s dog loose in the front yard. The girl in the home couldn’t understand how the dog had gotten loose.

Is there someone trying to set dogs free or torment dog lovers in Prairie Village?

Has anyone else had similar problems?
