The Grinchitude of limousines on Prairie Village Christmas light tours

We know that limousines are supposed to project a certain status for their riders. But what is it with the jerky behavior of limousines that have been circling around Prairie Village’s Christmas lights hot-spots? They seem to rub just about everyone the wrong way.

The Star’s Barb Shelly wrote earlier this week about how a limo at Tim Dorr’s light display at City Hall stopped right in front of a line of cars parked watching the show, blocking everyone’s view. That’s the Christmas spirit, fellas!

Last night, we swung by Mike Babick’s house to try to get some pictures of the new additions to his display. More than half of the features normally lit up and animated were dark (not sure what was going on there…) but the crowds were still out in force. There are no parking signs all along the east side of the street, with several posted in the immediate vicinity of Babick’s house. When we drove by, there were two limos — a black one and a white one — both parked directly in front of Babick’s house, with their drivers standing next to the vehicles.

We were sufficiently annoyed that we parked up the street, got out of our car and headed back to snap a couple of shots. As soon as the limo drivers saw me walking up with the camera, they hopped in the cars and drove off:
