Sullivan supporters expected to speak at SMSD board meeting
Emma Sullivan says she won’t be attending Monday’s Shawnee Mission School District Board of Education meeting (she has to work), but has heard from several of her supporters that they plan on addressing the controversy surrounding her anti-Brownback tweet.
Indeed, several people who’ve weighed in on the conversation surrounding the issue have lobbied for people to show up at tonight’s meeting to voice their opinions.
Sullivan intends to let principal Karl Krawitz know she is refusing to heed his request to send a letter of apology to the governor’s office today. She hasn’t heard either the school district or the governor’s office address the issue publicly or privately since she met with Krawitz last Tuesday.
The school board meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the McEachen Administrative Center, 7235 Antioch Road.
