Lights. Action!: Popular Babick and Dorr holiday displays up and running

Tim Dorr and his family have spent the past couple weeks setting up their display on the grounds of the Prairie Village pool.
Unfortunately, some technical difficulties prevented us from posting information yesterday about the opening night of Prairie Village’s most trafficked holiday lights displays. But better a day late than never, we suppose.
Tim Dorr’s popular choreographed lights and music display has moved from his Fontana Street home to the grounds of the Prairie Village pool. From 5:30 p.m. to midnight every night through New Year’s Eve, the display will be visible from the south end of the senior lot at SM East, alongside the north fence of the 50 meter pools. Tune your radio to 100.5 FM to hear the audio the lights are timed to.
Take a look at the behind the scenes video Dorr put together:

Mike Babick’s elaborate holiday lighting display at his Falmouth Street home has been running for more than four decades — and promises to have some new features this year. The street is one way running north to south, so to see the display, you’ll want to turn down Falmouth Street from 75th Street. There are no parking zones in the area directly around the house, so start look for a parking spot soon after you turn onto Falmouth and prepare to make a short walk. (We had a reader report that a couple of limos and buses were ignoring the no parking zones on opening night — which was a problem last year as well).
