Stroud’s chicken gets some across-the-state-line media love

We regret to report that in our wrap up of local restaurants that got a nice pat on the back in the Pitch’s annual Best of Kansas City issue, we neglected to recognize Stroud’s, which took home “Best Display of Kansas City Portions” honors.

But the Pitch isn’t the only publication dishing out props to the Shawnee Mission Parkway fried chicken favorite. A St. Louis Dispatch food blogger — perhaps intrigued by the portions lauded by the Pitch — recently did a write up on the restaurant, saying its chicken “outdid even the wreathed-in-gold memories of the fried chicken made by the grandmothers of every one of the foursome at our table.”
